CalCAP California Air Resources Board Heavy-Duty Vehicle Air Quality Loan Program (CalCAP CARB)

History:

In a funding partnership with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), CalCAP contributed $219 million to support more than 40,000 loans to assist California small business owners purchase cleaner heavy-duty trucks.

• More than 40,000 cleaner trucks were purchased
• Equivalent to removing over 13 million passenger cars from the road and 182 tons per year of particulate matter

Currently:

• Financial institutions can enroll loans and TRAC leases for purchase of zero-emission trucks and supporting infrastructure in CalCAP’s new credit enhancement CalCAP ZEHD pilot programs
• Financial institutions can also enroll loans for purchase of trucks and trailers in CalCAP Collateral Support or CalCAP for Small Business
